Lid Only Rooflight
Lid only units are designed to be fixed onto a builder’s upstand on flat or pitched roofs.
Efficient
Each unit is manufactured from powder-coated aluminium with an integrated thermal break for enhanced insulation and reduced heat loss.
Double Glazed Rooflights Specification
Our double glazed ridge rooflights combine toughened safety glass with a low-E coating for excellent thermal performance. The typical build includes:
- Outer Pane: 6 mm clear heat-soak tested toughened glass, reducing the risk of spontaneous breakage by 95% compared to standard glass.
- Cavity: 18 mm argon-filled cavity for enhanced insulation.
- Inner Pane:
- Option 1: 9.5 mm soft coat low-E heat-soak tested toughened glass.
- Option 2: 13.5 mm soft coat laminated glass for added overhead protection.
Note: While toughened glass is classified as safety glass, it may fragment in the rare event of breakage. For enhanced safety, opt for the laminated double glazed upgrade, which prevents glass fragments from falling through, ideal for overhead installations.
Pre-Determined Glass Load and Rooflight Load Design
Our rooflights are rigorously tested to withstand typical UK environmental conditions, ensuring reliability and performance. Key load ratings include:
